Research Interests

l  Modelling of renewable power generation systems

The parameters of components in renewable power generation systems were estimated and validated by some new strategies, such as the turbulence wind speed was proposed to estimate parameters of drive train in FSIG. A new decomposition-coordination technique was applied for estimating DFIG and drive train parameters by utilizing multiple types of disturbances. The frequency-domain estimation method was used to estimate converter controller parameters based on decoupling controller’s model.

l  Power system dynamics, stability and control

The mechanism of power system second-swing instability phenomenon was found in Chinese bulk power grid and the possible negative control effects were analyzed. The trajectory eigenvalue technique was proposed for analyzing power system global nonlinear dynamics.
